The building was approached by our team by means of a solid condition that needed to be redefined.

The old building’s classic style did not work for the new owners, so we looked for ways to modify the shell’s feel, by updating the facade, giving it a more modern look.

The first and most important intervention involved the removal of the classic elements from the doors, balconies, and the entire original composition.

In 2006, a pine-filled neighbourhood in Politeia saw the construction of the complex of houses.

It consists of three residential buildings that are nearing completion of their shells.

Our clients wanted to divide a single building into two separate homes, each with its own garden and entrance.

Each residence has 225m of total space.

The designers appropriately designed the exterior space to serve both the entrances of the two now independent residences and the outdoor space of the ground-floor residence.

The building acquired new aspects and a modern character through the synthesis of volumes and metal elements. Trust and constant communication with the owners contributed to an impressive result.

Our team prepared the architectural study and the supervision of the works both externally and internally, with the primary objective of guaranteeing the detailed implementation and precise execution of the interior configuration plans created by interior designer Rena Manias.

We approached the building as a new canvas by introducing vertical and horizontal passages from imaginary points of the building that create slits in its sides in proportion to its peripheral dimensions.

The building’s vertical openings direct the viewer’s eyes to specific points of view, making the most of them.

Concurrently, the openings create the desired interplay between the building’s full and empty elements to enhance its overall appearance.

The need to give the building additional “height” and “break” its volume led to the construction of a vertical divider that also translates as a boundary between the intervened building and the rest of the common plot.
